Dear Church,
We’re now three weeks into our four-week series reflecting on our purpose as a church. So far we’ve considered our role in making disciples, and last week we focused on what it means to stick with Jesus, that is, remaining in him. Wasn’t it wonderful to hear from Jonty and Tom about how they’re seeking to do that as young adults? It was such an encouragement.
This week we’ll be thinking about what it means to be “established in love.” That phrase comes from Ephesians 3:14–21, a deep and earnest prayer from the apostle Paul. It’s a prayer he prays on his knees, a prayer for strengthening and power. Paul longs for the Christians in Ephesus not just to understand the gospel in their heads, but for it to take hold of their hearts — their inner being. He asks God for extraordinary power so that they might love one another more deeply and know Christ more fully.
Speaking of prayer, Jack has taken our purpose statement and turned it into a prayer for us as a church. You can see that prayer below. I’d love to encourage you to be praying this regularly over the coming weeks, for yourself, for our church family, and for the people God is bringing among us.

Looking forward to gathering together this Sunday.
God Bless,
Karl
